What type of headshots do actors need?
How many different headshot looks should I have? You should have at least two looks for a headshot session. It's standard to have a theatrical, more serious shot, and a smiling commercial shot showing your teeth. If you have a niche skill or bookable talent, it's a good idea to take a few snaps of you in your element.
How many headshots do you need for acting?
Five or six shots are the most any actor needs, as long as they target the specific roles and categories of roles for which they're best suited. Don't confuse the people who have the power to hire you by overloading them (or not offering enough)
What makes a good acting headshot?
In general, a good headshot is chest-up with good lighting on your face, and no strong dramatic shadows, unless you are going in for “The Phantom of the Opera.” Three-quarter shots are good for print, and extreme close-ups are good for, well, nothing.
